Where is security in each terminal at LAS?

Each LAS terminal has its own TSA checkpoint, and the line can be short in one terminal and long in the next. Before you pick when to leave, check wait times by terminal and head to the fastest open lane. Not sure how long to budget? How long does airport security really take breaks it down by the hour.

How do you get between terminals at LAS?

Harry Reid International Airport Tram (APM) — Three colored lines inside the secure area: Green Line (Terminal 1 central ↔ Concourse C gates), Blue Line (Terminal 1 ↔ satellite Concourse D gates), and Red Line (Terminal 3 ↔ Concourse D gates). Concourse D is a shared satellite reachable by tram from both terminals. Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 are NOT connected airside; to switch between the two terminals landside, use the free airport shuttle bus (runs roughly every 20–30 minutes).

What is the minimum connection time at LAS?

Give yourself a real cushion to connect at LAS: about 45–60 minutes for a domestic-to-domestic connection, and 90 minutes or more when international travel or a terminal change is involved. See our full guide to minimum connection time.

Arrivals, departures, and getting around LAS

  • Departures are usually upstairs. Most LAS terminals put ticketing, bag drop, and security on the upper (departures) level, with baggage claim and pickup below.
  • Follow your gate, not just your terminal. Inside security, signs point you to gate numbers and concourses — your boarding pass lists both.
  • Accessibility. Elevators, accessible restrooms, and wheelchair assistance are available throughout; ask your airline ahead of time, or look for TSA Cares if you need extra help at screening.
  • Picking someone up? Head to baggage claim on the arrivals level — but to catch a flight, everything you need is on the departures side above.
Cheap LAS parking — comparedFind the lot closest to your terminal and fold the shuttle into your Leave-By Time.

Lounges, dining, and shops live inside each terminal past security — handy once you're through, but they shouldn't change when you leave home. Browsing other airports? TSA wait times by airport lists them all.
