Each HNL terminal has its own TSA checkpoint, and the line can be short in one terminal and long in the next. Wiki Wiki Shuttle — Airside Wiki Wiki shuttles move passengers between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 concourses inside security (most stops on level 3; Concourses C and G stop on level 2), operating ~6 a.m.–10 p.m. A separate landside terminal shuttle (3 a.m.–11:15 p.m.) connects Terminals 1, 2 and 3 outside security. Terminals 1 and 2 are also walkable in about 10–15 minutes; Terminal 3 (Mokulele) is reachable only by shuttle bus. The Skyline rail's Lelepaua Station between the parking garages is city light rail, not an inter-terminal connector. (Independently corroborated by NerdWallet: 'The Wiki Wiki Shuttle … is a free bus … possible to walk between Terminals 1 and 2 … To get to Terminal 3, the shuttle ride is a necessity.')
Give yourself a real cushion to connect at HNL: about 45–60 minutes for a domestic-to-domestic connection, and 90 minutes or more when international travel or a terminal change is involved. See our full guide to minimum connection time.
Lounges, dining, and shops live inside each terminal past security — handy once you're through, but they shouldn't change when you leave home. Browsing other airports? TSA wait times by airport lists them all.
