Rideshare & Ground Transport
Rideshare pickup at SLC is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Ground Transportation Center (GTC) — Level 2, reached via sky bridge from baggage claim in both the South and North terminals.
Same GTC Level 2 zone as Uber.

In the app
Enter 'SLC Salt Lake City' in the app; select the Ground Transportation Center as pickup location.
From baggage claim, follow 'Ground Transportation / Rideshare' signs to the sky bridge that connects to the GTC; once on Level 2 look for 'TNC / Ride App' lane markers.
Cell Phone Lot
The Cell Phone Waiting Lot is on North Temple Dr off I-80 — follow brown 'Cell Phone Lot' signs; 4–5 min to the GTC. Cell phone lot details →
When surge peaks: Surge peaks during ski season (December–March) on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings as Park City, Deer Valley, and Alta crowds flood the airport; Sundance Film Festival week (January) is extreme.
Wait tip
SLC's new terminal opened in 2023 — the GTC sky bridge adds 3–5 min of walking; request your ride before entering the sky bridge so your driver arrives as you do.
Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
| Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Rideshare Uber / Lyft | Door-to-door convenience, groups with bags, no cash needed | Surge pricing on busy evenings & events; long walk to pickup lot |
| Taxi Metered cab | Predictable metered fare during surge, no app required | Often more expensive off-peak; cash sometimes required |
| Transit Train / bus | Lowest cost option, immune to surge pricing and traffic | Not available at every airport; less practical with luggage |
