Accessibility
Wheelchair assistance at Palm Beach International Airport is provided free by your airline — request it at booking for best results. For security screening help, call TSA Cares at 1-855-787-2227 at least 72 hours before travel to have a Passenger Support Specialist waiting at the checkpoint. Family lanes, service animal relief areas, and sensory rooms are covered below.

Airline-provided service
Wheelchair assistance
Request wheelchair assistance directly through your airline when booking or at check-in — airport wheelchair service at PBI is provided by the airline, not by TSA or the airport itself. Confirm the request again with the airline the day before travel.
Tip: request at booking rather than at the airport — airline wheelchair assistants are in higher demand at peak times and early requests are filled first.
TSA Cares
Free security screening assistance
TSA Cares is a free helpline and on-site assistance program for travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, or other circumstances that may affect the security screening process.
How to use: Call 1-855-787-2227 at least 72 hours before travel. A Passenger Support Specialist will meet you at the PBI security checkpoint and guide you through screening at no charge.
Call TSA Cares at 1-855-787-2227 (weekdays 8am–11pm ET, weekends/holidays 9am–8pm ET) or email TSA-ContactCenter@tsa.dhs.gov at least 72 hours before travel to arrange a Passenger Support Specialist to meet you at PBI's checkpoint and walk you through screening.
PBI does not have a permanently signed dedicated family lane at all checkpoints. Ask any TSA agent at the checkpoint for assistance — agents are trained to help travelers with special needs and can route you around standard queue lines.
Indoor pet relief areas are located post-security in Concourse B and Concourse C; outdoor relief areas with waste-bag stations are also available landside. Ask any airport employee for the nearest location.
Note: service animals are permitted throughout all airport areas without restriction. Emotional support animals follow individual airline policies — check with your carrier before travel.
PBI does not currently have a confirmed public sensory room. PBI does not yet have a confirmed, open sensory room — a dedicated multi-sensory space is funded and in development as part of a 2026 federally funded terminal upgrade (alongside new mothers'/family rooms), with work already underway in Concourse B, but it was not confirmed as operational as of mid-2026. In the meantime, post-security family/nursing suites near the Concourse B checkpoint and near Gate C6 in Concourse C offer a quieter, private space — ask any airline or Guest Services staff for access.
PBI does not operate a self-service mobility-device rental kiosk; wheelchair transport is arranged free through your airline, and electric cart transport within the single terminal is available on request from airline staff or airport Guest Services for longer walks.
Motorized scooters and power wheelchairs are generally available from airlines for gate-to-gate use; contact your carrier directly if you need a motorized device beyond a standard transport chair.
Pro Tip
PBI is a small, single-terminal airport with short concourse walks, but it runs two separate security checkpoints (A/B and C) with no confirmed airside connection between them — if you need mobility assistance for a same-airport connection between those zones, tell your airline in advance so an escort can be arranged rather than navigating it alone.
Is wheelchair assistance free at PBI airport?
Yes — wheelchair assistance at PBI is provided free of charge by your airline or their contracted ground handler. Request it at booking or check-in. The airline arranges and covers the cost; no tipping is required, though it is appreciated.
How do I contact TSA Cares before my flight from PBI?
Call TSA Cares at 1-855-787-2227 at least 72 hours before your flight. The helpline is open weekdays 8 a.m.–11 p.m. ET and weekends/holidays 9 a.m.–8 p.m. ET. You can also submit a request online at tsa.gov/contact-center/form/cares. A Passenger Support Specialist will meet you at the PBI security checkpoint at no cost.
Does PBI airport have a family security lane?
Palm Beach International Airport does not have a permanently signed dedicated family lane at all checkpoints, but TSA officers are trained to accommodate travelers who need extra time. PBI does not advertise a dedicated family/special-assistance security lane at either of its two checkpoints (Main Terminal/Concourse A-B, or Concourse C). Ask any TSA officer at the checkpoint for extra time or assistance — TSA PreCheck passengers who cannot stand or walk may also remain seated in their mobility device during screening.
Where is the service animal relief area at PBI airport?
Indoor pet relief areas are located post-security in Concourse B and Concourse C; outdoor relief areas with waste-bag stations are also available landside. Ask any airport employee for the nearest location. Service animals are permitted throughout all airport areas without restriction. Emotional support animals follow your individual airline's policies.
