Shopping
Shopping at John F. Kennedy International Airport spans convenience staples at Hudson News and tech accessories at InMotion through to local specialty gifts and duty-free for international travelers. See each section below for exact locations by concourse or terminal.

Terminal 4 is JFK's duty-free hub. As of April 2026, ARI and International Shoppes (JFK T4 Retail Partners LLC) took over from DFS and are rolling out redesigned shops as part of T4's $1.5 billion transformation — new concept stores featuring locally inspired New York products alongside classic spirits, fragrance, and cosmetics. Terminal 1 (Air France, Lufthansa) has separate duty-free concessions.
US duty-free allowance
US residents may bring back $800 in duty-free goods per person. Liquids purchased at duty-free must be in the original sealed store bag when transiting international connections — otherwise they may be confiscated at the connecting airport security checkpoint.

Best shopping area
Terminal 4 is JFK's clear shopping winner — the only airport Apple Store in the US, redesigned duty-free shops, Coach, Brooks Brothers, Bulgari, Amazon, and the widest food and retail selection of any JFK terminal. Arrive at least 60–90 minutes before international flights to have time to browse.
Pro Tip
The T4 duty-free shops are being renovated in phases through 2026 under the new ARI/International Shoppes management. Look for the newly opened concept stores near the B concourse gates featuring New York City-curated products — a step up from the previous DFS setup.
