Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Rideshare pickup at CLT is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Enter 'CLT Charlotte Douglas' in the app; pickup is at the Lower Level Ground Transportation curb.

How to find the rideshare zone

From baggage claim, take the escalator or elevator down to the Lower Level (Ground Transportation) and follow 'Rideshare/TNC' directional signs to the designated curb lane outside the terminal.

Cell Phone Lot

The Cell Phone Waiting Lot is on Billy Graham Pkwy near the airport entrance — follow 'Cell Phone Lot' signs; 2–3 min drive to the Lower Level curb. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at CLT

When surge peaks: Surge hits hardest Friday evenings 4–8pm and Sunday afternoons 3–7pm; Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC home game nights also cause regional spikes.

Wait tip

Charlotte is a major connecting hub; avoid peak connection banks (6–9am, 12–2pm, 5–8pm) when departing passengers overwhelm the lower-level curb — wait briefly inside before heading out.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
