Maps are updated when terminals are renovated or new concourses open. Terminal 5 at LAX, for example, has been closed since October 2025 for reconstruction — always confirm your terminal from your boarding pass rather than relying on a saved map.
Here is what each terminal or concourse at AUS handles — which airlines fly from it, the gate range, and key amenities to know before you go.
The sole operating terminal at AUS as of April 1, 2026 (South Terminal permanently closed and being demolished for the Concourse M expansion). A single linear building with numbered gates running approximately 1–30. All 18+ commercial airlines operate here: Aeromexico, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, American Airlines, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Copa Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Porter Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, Viva Aerobus, and WestJet. Has four security checkpoints: Checkpoint 1 (General, Priority, ADA, CLEAR); Checkpoints 2 and 3 (TSA PreCheck); Checkpoint 4 (General). Departures on the upper roadway level, arrivals and baggage claim on the lower level. International customs exit is located to the far left (east) past baggage carousel 7 on the lower level. Ongoing West Gate Expansion (2026) adds 3 new gates and 5 waiting areas.
Single terminal — all gates in the Barbara Jordan Terminal are connected airside with no tram or shuttle needed between gates. Passengers walk between any gate once through security. Ground transportation (Uber, Lyft, taxis) and rental cars are NOT at the terminal curb: two separate free trams depart from baggage claim to the Red Garage (rideshare/taxi) and the rental car facility.
Timing tip
Always allow 15–30 minutes for any inter-terminal transfer at AUS — wait times for people-movers, buses, or security re-screening add up faster than the physical distance suggests. Build the buffer into your Leave-By time, not your gate arrival time.
Rideshare and taxi pickups are not at the terminal curb — after collecting bags, take the free tram from baggage claim to the Red Garage first floor, which adds 10–15 minutes. Within the terminal, use Checkpoint 2 or 3 for TSA PreCheck; Checkpoint 1 is for CLEAR and Priority lanes.

Open your airline app about two hours before departure — gate assignments sometimes change after check-in closes. Look for departure boards throughout the terminal for real-time gate information.
