Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Tampa International Airport

Rideshare pickup at TPA is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Where to get picked up at TPA

UUber Pickup Zone

Main (Landside) Terminal, Level 2 (Arrivals) — designated TNC/Rideshare lane on the Red Side or Blue Side curb depending on your arrival concourse.

LLyft Pickup Zone

Same Level 2 TNC lanes as Uber — Red or Blue side as directed by the app.

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Enter 'TPA Tampa' in the app; select Level 2 pickup; the app will direct you to the Red or Blue side curb.

How to find the rideshare zone

TPA uses a people-mover system: from your gate, take the people mover from the airside concourse to the main Landside Terminal. Collect bags in baggage claim, then exit to Level 2 and follow 'TNC/Rideshare' signs to the designated curb lane on the Red or Blue side.

Cell Phone Lot

The Cell Phone Lot is on Aviation Blvd near the rental car center — follow airport signs; 3–4 min drive to Level 2. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at TPA

When surge peaks: Surge peaks Friday evenings year-round; spring break (March), Tampa Bay Buccaneers home game Sundays, and Super Bowl years bring extended surge periods; cruise embarkation Saturdays from Port Tampa Bay also affect demand.

Wait tip

The people mover adds 5–10 min of transit time from gate to baggage claim; request your ride only after collecting bags and reaching the Level 2 curb to avoid driver timeout.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
