Orange County (SNA) Airport Shopping

Shopping at John Wayne Airport spans convenience staples at Hudson News and tech accessories at InMotion through to local specialty gifts and duty-free for international travelers. See each section below for exact locations by concourse or terminal.

Diagram of duty-free shopping with sealed liquid bags and the rules for carrying them through connections.
Duty-free liquids must stay in the sealed store bag to clear security on international connecting flights.

Duty-free shopping

La Boutique, SNA's first-ever duty-free store, opened May 30, 2024 post-security in Terminal B (near Gate 10), operated by Duty Free Holdings and DF Express. It carries spirits and sparkling wine (Johnnie Walker to Dom Pérignon) and designer beauty from Chanel, Estée Lauder, and Hermès, with a 'Click and Collect' online pre-order option for gate pickup.

US duty-free allowance

US residents may bring back $800 in duty-free goods per person. Liquids purchased at duty-free must be in the original sealed store bag when transiting international connections — otherwise they may be confiscated at the connecting airport security checkpoint.

Books & magazines

Hudson News at Gate 3, Terminal A, is SNA's only dedicated newsstand/bookstore, carrying magazines, paperbacks, and travel reads alongside snacks and drinks.

Convenience & travel essentials

Orange County Market (Gate 8, Terminal A), Market 949 (shared Gate 13/14, Terminal B/C, known for fresh grab-and-go meals), and SoCal Essentials (Gate 19, Terminal C) cover convenience and snack needs; Harbor Exchange (Gate 8, Terminal A) adds travel essentials and local artisan gifts.

Hudson News is at most gate areas throughout John Wayne Airport — a reliable last-minute stop for charging cables, snacks, OTC medicine, and reading material before any departure.

Tech & electronics

Brookstone at Gate 8, Terminal A, is SNA's only dedicated electronics/tech retailer, stocking travel gadgets and accessories. There is no InMotion, Best Buy Express, or Apple-adjacent shop.

Best Buy Express kiosks carry Apple accessories, Bose headphones, and phone chargers at most major US airports. InMotion Entertainment is the other key tech stop — open at most gate clusters and stocked with travel-oriented electronics essentials.

Fashion & specialty retail

No dedicated apparel or fashion retailer at SNA. The closest thing is duty-free La Boutique in Terminal B, which sells luxury beauty and fragrance (Chanel, Estée Lauder, Hermès) rather than clothing.

Best shopping area

Terminal A has SNA's densest cluster of shops — Hudson News, Brookstone, Harbor Exchange, and Orange County Market around Gates 3 and 8 — while Terminal B is the place to go specifically for duty-free at La Boutique near Gate 10.

Pro Tip

SNA is a small airport with only about seven shops total, so if you need duty-free liquor, cosmetics, or spirits, go straight to La Boutique in Terminal B (Gate 10) and use its Click and Collect option to pre-order online so your items are ready at the gate before boarding.
