Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport

Rideshare pickup at SJC is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Enter 'Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC)'; the app confirms your terminal and stop number

How to find the rideshare zone

Follow Ground Transportation signs from baggage claim to the island outside; Terminal A riders go to Stop 1; Terminal B riders go to Stops 8–10 (Uber = Stops 8 & 9; Lyft = Stop 10).

Cell Phone Lot

Free Cell Phone Waiting Area at 2470 Airport Blvd, San José CA 95110 (south of Terminal B) — 30-minute limit; 24/7; flight information displays in the lot; commercial vehicles prohibited; second lot on Airport Parkway serves Terminal A. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at SJC

When surge peaks: Surge peaks Friday afternoons 4–7pm (Silicon Valley tech workforce), Sunday evenings 4–8pm, and during major San Jose tech conferences and Sharks home games; tech-sector staffing cycles can temporarily shift driver supply.

Wait tip

Uber and Lyft use different stops at Terminal B — confirm which stop your app assigns before settling in to wait, as Stops 8, 9, and 10 are separate.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
