Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport

Rideshare pickup at SDF is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

How to find the rideshare zone

After collecting luggage, exit the terminal through the west-side doors of baggage claim; rideshare pickup is directly outside those doors on the western curb.

Cell Phone Lot

Free Express Shuttle / Cell Phone Waiting Area at 600 Terminal Dr, Louisville KY — 2-hour free limit (pull a ticket at the entry gate and insert at exit); no charge if under 2 hours — the longest free window in this airport group. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at SDF

When surge peaks: Surge peaks sharply during Kentucky Derby week (first Saturday in May), one of the most extreme regional surges in the US; U of L sports events and bourbon trail tourism weekends also drive consistent demand.

Wait tip

Pickup is on the west side only — do not wait at the main (east) arrivals entrance or you will miss your driver.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
