San Antonio (SAT) Airport Shopping

Shopping at San Antonio International Airport spans convenience staples at Hudson News and tech accessories at InMotion through to local specialty gifts and duty-free for international travelers. See each section below for exact locations by concourse or terminal.

Diagram of duty-free shopping with sealed liquid bags and the rules for carrying them through connections.
Duty-free liquids must stay in the sealed store bag to clear security on international connecting flights.

Duty-free shopping

UETA Duty Free (Duty Free Americas) operates one store in Terminal A near Gate A6, open Mon–Fri 9:00am–6:00pm and Sat–Sun 9:00am–3:00pm. Carries wine & spirits (whisky, tequila, rum, cognac, champagne), fragrance/beauty, cigars/cigarettes/nicotine pouches, watches, sunglasses, jewelry, and chocolate/candy. Purchases require an international boarding pass; on international departures a UETA representative delivers the purchase gate-side during boarding per customs rules. Terminal B has no duty-free shop.

US duty-free allowance

US residents may bring back $800 in duty-free goods per person. Liquids purchased at duty-free must be in the original sealed store bag when transiting international connections — otherwise they may be confiscated at the connecting airport security checkpoint.

Books & magazines

Hudson Booksellers/Hudson News operates multiple Terminal A locations, including Express News outposts between Gates 13–15 and near Gate 15; Simply Books is also in Terminal A near Gate 8. Terminal B's Hudson News location carries books and magazines alongside its newsstand offerings.

Convenience & travel essentials

Hudson News and Express News (Terminal A and B) cover snacks, drinks, and travel sundries. Terminal A also has Alamo Extra News and Gifts, San Antonio News Exchange, and Prickly Pear Provisions/Southtown Market for local grab-and-go goods; Terminal B has Military City USA and Stars of San Antonio for regional souvenirs alongside convenience items.

Hudson News is at most gate areas throughout San Antonio International Airport — a reliable last-minute stop for charging cables, snacks, OTC medicine, and reading material before any departure.

Tech & electronics

InMotion Entertainment has two Terminal A locations (a Retail Court store and one at Gate A8), plus an InMotion kiosk and an automated Electronics Vending unit, stocking headphones, chargers, and travel electronics. Terminal B's iStore carries Apple products and accessories, and Tech on the Go offers additional electronics and accessories.

Best Buy Express kiosks carry Apple accessories, Bose headphones, and phone chargers at most major US airports. InMotion Entertainment is the other key tech stop — open at most gate clusters and stocked with travel-oriented electronics essentials.

Fashion & specialty retail

No dedicated fashion boutique at SAT — standard airport convenience/gift retail applies. San Antonio Spurs Shop (Terminal A) and Military City USA / Stars of San Antonio (Terminal B) cover local sports and regional-themed apparel and souvenirs rather than high-fashion retail.

Best shopping area

Terminal A is SAT's stronger shopping concourse by a wide margin — roughly 18 retail locations including the airport's only duty-free store, two InMotion electronics locations, and Hudson News/Simply Books, versus about 8 locations in Terminal B.

Pro Tip

If you want duty-free liquor, fragrance, or tobacco, you need to be departing internationally from Terminal A near Gate A6 — Terminal B has no duty-free option at all, so check which terminal your international gate is in before counting on a duty-free stop.
