TSA Lost Property
1-866-289-9673If your item went missing at the TSA security checkpoint rather than in the terminal or on your flight, file with the TSA Contact Center. Checkpoint items found at SAT specifically can also be reached through TSA's local SAT administrative office at 210-832-5334. Call as soon as you notice something missing — checkpoint items are typically logged within a day or two of being found.
File a TSA claim online →Note: items left in gate areas may also be held by the airline's gate staff — contact the airline directly for gate-area and on-board lost items.
Pro Tip
SAT routes lost property to different custodians depending on where it was lost — Airport Police holds general terminal finds, TSA holds checkpoint items, and each airline holds its own gate/cabin items — so start with the general Lost & Found line (210-207-3451) or the 833-290-0690 report line and they'll point you to the right place. High-value items and cash over $100 are transferred to the San Antonio Police Department Property Room (210-207-7570) after intake, and anything unclaimed after 14 days is transferred to police custody, donated, or discarded, so call quickly.
How long does SAT airport keep lost items?
Most airports hold unclaimed items for 30–90 days before donating or auctioning them. File your claim as quickly as possible to maximize recovery chances.
What if I left something on the plane?
Items left on aircraft go to the airline, not the airport lost and found. Contact the airline directly — each airline has its own baggage service phone number and online claim process.
How do I report a lost item at the TSA checkpoint at SAT?
Call TSA at 1-866-289-9673 or file a claim at tsa.gov/travel/customer-service. Items left at security checkpoints are held for 30 days.
Can I file a lost item report online for SAT?
Yes — SAT has an online lost item report form. Filing online is recommended as written claims are typically processed faster than phone reports alone.
