Ontario (ONT) Airport Shopping

Shopping at Ontario International Airport spans convenience staples at Hudson News and tech accessories at InMotion through to local specialty gifts and duty-free for international travelers. See each section below for exact locations by concourse or terminal.

Diagram of duty-free shopping with sealed liquid bags and the rules for carrying them through connections.
Duty-free liquids must stay in the sealed store bag to clear security on international connecting flights.

Duty-free shopping

3Sixty Duty Free (Terminal 2, Gate 207) — ONT's only duty-free outlet, opened July 2022 as 3Sixty Duty Free and More's first airport location on the US West Coast, under a 10-year concession. Available only to international departures — ONT's international routes (Volaris to Guadalajara/León/Morelia, Mexico; China Airlines and STARLUX to Taipei) all operate from Terminal 2, so the store is well-placed. Marketed as carrying 'a vast assortment of luxury brands'; specific brand names weren't published in available sources, but standard 3Sixty categories are liquor, fragrance, cosmetics, and confectionery. Terminal 4 (American, JetBlue, Southwest — domestic only) has no duty-free.

US duty-free allowance

US residents may bring back $800 in duty-free goods per person. Liquids purchased at duty-free must be in the original sealed store bag when transiting international connections — otherwise they may be confiscated at the connecting airport security checkpoint.

Books & magazines

No independent bookstore, but Hudson-branded newsstands carry books, magazines, cards, and gifts throughout both terminals: Evolve by Hudson (Terminal 2, Gate 208, open 4:30am–midnight daily; Terminal 4, Gate 404, 4:30am–7:30pm Sun–Fri and 4:30am–noon Sat), Hudson News (Terminal 2, Gate 205), Ink by Hudson News (Terminal 4, Gate 409), and Ontario Provisions (Gate 406, present in both terminals).

Convenience & travel essentials

The same Hudson-branded shops (Evolve by Hudson, Hudson News, Ink by Hudson News, Ontario Provisions) double as convenience/newsstand stores in both terminals, plus self-serve Travel Essentials vending machines (Terminal 2 Gate 211, Terminal 4 Gate 410) for grab-and-go snacks and travel items.

Hudson News is at most gate areas throughout Ontario International Airport — a reliable last-minute stop for charging cables, snacks, OTC medicine, and reading material before any departure.

Tech & electronics

Tech on the Go (Terminal 4, Gate 407) is ONT's dedicated electronics retailer. Both terminals also have Premium Sound vending machines (T2 Gate 210, T4 Gate 403) for headphones and audio accessories.

Best Buy Express kiosks carry Apple accessories, Bose headphones, and phone chargers at most major US airports. InMotion Entertainment is the other key tech stop — open at most gate clusters and stocked with travel-oriented electronics essentials.

Fashion & specialty retail

No dedicated fashion or apparel boutique identified at ONT — retail here skews toward newsstand/gift and duty-free categories rather than clothing. Standard airport convenience retail otherwise; a Lego vending machine (Terminal 4, Gate 403) and a ShopAll Fans vending machine (Terminal 2, Gate 204) round out the novelty/gift options.

Best shopping area

Terminal 2's Gate 205–211 corridor is ONT's strongest shopping stretch — it's the only place with duty-free (3Sixty, Gate 207) and has two Hudson-branded newsstands (Gates 205 and 208) within a few gates of each other.

Pro Tip

Duty-free at ONT is restricted to international travelers departing Terminal 2 on Volaris (Mexico) or China Airlines/STARLUX (Taipei) — Terminal 4 flyers (American, JetBlue, Southwest) have no duty-free access at all, but do get ONT's only dedicated electronics shop, Tech on the Go at Gate 407.
