Miami (MIA) Airport Shopping

Shopping at Miami International Airport spans convenience staples at Hudson News and tech accessories at InMotion through to local specialty gifts and duty-free for international travelers. See each section below for exact locations by concourse or terminal.

Diagram of duty-free shopping with sealed liquid bags and the rules for carrying them through connections.
Duty-free liquids must stay in the sealed store bag to clear security on international connecting flights.

Duty-free shopping

Concourse D (American Airlines international) has an extensive Duty-Free Americas operation with a luxury selection — spirits, cosmetics, fragrance, Bulgari jewelry, and Longchamp bags. One of the strongest duty-free selections at any US airport. Concourse E (international) also has duty-free retail. MIA's Latin America route network makes duty-free spirits (rum, tequila, whisky) a particularly good buy here.

US duty-free allowance

US residents may bring back $800 in duty-free goods per person. Liquids purchased at duty-free must be in the original sealed store bag when transiting international connections — otherwise they may be confiscated at the connecting airport security checkpoint.

Books & magazines

Hudson News at all concourses (D, E, H, J, K). No dedicated independent bookstore, but Hudson locations in Concourses D and J have solid selections with Latin American-themed titles, travel guides, and Cuban literature well-stocked.

Convenience & travel essentials

Hudson News throughout all concourses. Miami-specific convenience items including Latin American snacks, cafecito products, and tropical food items are available at select shops in Concourses D and J. Versailles Cuban bakery products at select locations.

Hudson News is at most gate areas throughout Miami International Airport — a reliable last-minute stop for charging cables, snacks, OTC medicine, and reading material before any departure.

Tech & electronics

InMotion Entertainment at most concourses. Standard tech accessories — phone chargers, earbuds, and travel adapters widely available. No Best Buy Express at MIA.

Best Buy Express kiosks carry Apple accessories, Bose headphones, and phone chargers at most major US airports. InMotion Entertainment is the other key tech stop — open at most gate clusters and stocked with travel-oriented electronics essentials.

Fashion & specialty retail

Concourse D's duty-free area includes Bulgari jewelry and Longchamp bags — genuine luxury retail not found at most US domestic airports. Coach boutique in Concourse D. Standard airport fashion chains in domestic concourses. Strong Latin American fashion brand presence in international concourses.

Best shopping area

Concourse D is MIA's shopping destination — Duty-Free Americas with luxury brands including Bulgari and Longchamp, Coach, and a solid Hudson selection. One of the strongest airport duty-free environments in the US for international travelers bound for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Pro Tip

MIA's Concourse D duty-free has an excellent Caribbean and Latin American spirits section — rum, mezcal, and regional whisky at prices that undercut the Strip shops and online equivalents. Buy spirits here rather than at your Caribbean or Latin American destination for the best pricing.
