Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Miami International Airport

Rideshare pickup at MIA is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Enter 'MIA' in the app; the app assigns the nearest Arrivals Level 1 median door number to your driver

How to find the rideshare zone

Exit baggage claim to Arrivals Level 1 and cross to the middle median island; match your door number to the pickup zone nearest your baggage claim exit.

Cell Phone Lot

The Cell Phone Lot is at the NW corner of McLaughlin Rd & NW 20th St — follow airport loop signs; 3–5 min to the Arrivals Level 1 median. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at MIA

When surge peaks: Surge peaks during Art Basel (December), spring break (March), Miami Music Week/Ultra (March), and Formula 1 Miami GP (May); late-night South Beach returns also spike demand.

Wait tip

The middle median becomes crowded at peak times; request your ride only after physically reaching the median to prevent driver arrival before you.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
