Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Rideshare pickup at IAH is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Most airports route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated pickup lot or garage rather than the arrivals curb.

Where to get picked up at IAH

UUber Pickup Zone

Arrivals level 'Ride App Pick-Up' zones — Terminals A, B, C, and E only (Terminal D has no pickup)

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Select your specific terminal (A, B, C, or E) in the app; Terminal D arrivals should select Terminal E as their pickup terminal

How to find the rideshare zone

Exit baggage claim at your terminal's arrivals level and follow 'Ride App' or 'TNC/Rideshare' signs to the curbside pickup area; Terminal D arrivals must walk the connector to Terminal E.

Cell Phone Lot

The IAH Staging Lot is off Will Clayton Pkwy near Terminal E — follow signs; 4–6 min to Terminals A–E. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at IAH

When surge peaks: Surge peaks Friday 4–8pm, Sunday 4–8pm, and during Texans/Astros/Rockets events; post-energy conference arrivals (CERAWeek, March) also cause surges throughout Houston.

Wait tip

Terminal C expanded its rideshare zone for World Cup 2026 demand; Terminal D has no pickup — walk to Terminal E and allow an extra 10 minutes.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
