Maps are updated when terminals are renovated or new concourses open. Terminal 5 at LAX, for example, has been closed since October 2025 for reconstruction — always confirm your terminal from your boarding pass rather than relying on a saved map.
Here is what each terminal or concourse at GEG handles — which airlines fly from it, the gate range, and key amenities to know before you go.
The main terminal building's post-security area opens into a 37,000-sq-ft rotunda (renovated under the TREX program) that feeds two concourses: Concourse A has 5 gates (11–15) used primarily by Southwest, Allegiant, American, and Sun Country; Concourse B has 8 gates (1–8) used by Delta and United. The rotunda itself holds the newest concessions (Thomas Hammer Coffee, Method Juice Cafe, Burger King, Vintage Washington) and connects directly to both concourses without further screening.
Concourse C is a separate secure area (its own ticketing lobby and TSA checkpoint) serving Alaska Airlines almost exclusively. It has 9 gates split across two levels — upper-level Gates 30–32 for narrow-body mainline aircraft, and lower-level Gates 21a, 21b, 22–26 for regional turboprop/CRJ equipment. A 2024 TREX expansion (Phase 1) added three new mainline gates, six new ticketing counters, and new SSP America dining including Puerto Tortas Tacos Cantinas (opened December 2025).
GEG has no airside connector between Concourse A/B and Concourse C — the two secure areas are physically separate. Passengers connecting between an A/B flight (Southwest, Delta, United, American, Allegiant, Sun Country) and a Concourse C flight (Alaska) must exit the sterile area and re-clear a separate TSA checkpoint, a walk of a few minutes through the landside terminal/rotunda.
Timing tip
Always allow 15–30 minutes for any inter-terminal transfer at GEG — wait times for people-movers, buses, or security re-screening add up faster than the physical distance suggests. Build the buffer into your Leave-By time, not your gate arrival time.
If you're connecting between Alaska Airlines (Concourse C) and any other carrier (Concourse A/B), budget extra time to exit security, walk through the rotunda, and re-clear the other checkpoint — there's no airside shortcut. This will change once the TREX Phase 2 "Central Hall" opens (targeted 2025–2027), which is being built specifically to connect A/B and C airside with one consolidated checkpoint; until then, treat a same-airport connection between those two areas like leaving and re-entering the airport.
A few habits that prevent last-minute sprints:
Experienced travellers at GEG use a short checklist every time:

Look for departure boards throughout the terminal for real-time gate information.
