Rideshare & Ground Transport

Uber & Lyft Pickup at Newark Liberty International Airport

Rideshare pickup at EWR is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Most airports route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated pickup lot or garage rather than the arrivals curb.

Terminal A: Arrivals level across the street. Terminal B: Arrivals level terminal frontage. Terminal C: Level 3 of Terminal C Parking Garage, Zones B–E (effective June 10, 2026).

Pickup and drop-off often sit on different curb levels — arrivals below, departures above — so follow signs to the right level.

In the app

Select your terminal (A, B, or C) in the app; Terminal C riders follow signs to Garage Level 3 Zones B–E, not the Arrivals curb

How to find the rideshare zone

Terminal A/B: exit arrivals and follow 'Rideshare/TNC' signs to the curbside. Terminal C: follow signs from arrivals into the Terminal C Parking Garage and take elevator/stairs to Level 3 Zones B–E.

Cell Phone Lot

The Rideshare Hold Lot is on Earhart Drive, Newark — follow airport signs; 3–5 min to any terminal. Cell phone lot details →

Avoiding surge pricing at EWR

When surge peaks: EWR surges heavily on Friday 4–8pm, Sunday 4–9pm, and during NYC events (US Open, Giants/Jets games at MetLife Stadium); AirTrain to Penn Station can be cheaper than surge fares.

Wait tip

Terminal C pickup moved to Parking Garage Level 3 as of June 10, 2026 — do not wait at the old Arrivals curbside; AirTrain connects all terminals if you need to change.

Compare your options

Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
