Rideshare & Ground Transport
Rideshare pickup at DCA is not always at the arrivals curb — most airports now route Uber and Lyft to a dedicated lot or garage. Here is exactly where to go, how to get there, and how to keep the fare reasonable.

Terminal B/C: Level 2 Parking Garage rideshare zone, accessible via pedestrian bridge from the terminal. Terminal A: Arrivals curb, designated TNC lane.
Same zones as Uber — Terminal B/C Parking Garage Level 2; Terminal A Arrivals curb TNC lane.

In the app
Select 'DCA Reagan National' and your terminal in the app; Terminal B/C riders head to Garage Level 2, Terminal A riders to the Arrivals curb.
Terminal B/C: from baggage claim, exit and take the pedestrian bridge to the parking garage; follow 'TNC / Rideshare' signs to Level 2. Terminal A: follow signs to the curbside TNC pickup lane outside arrivals.
Cell Phone Lot
DCA has no traditional cell phone lot; the closest driver staging is on the GW Parkway loop — tell your party to text when they are physically at the pickup zone, as curbside wait time is strictly limited. Cell phone lot details →
When surge peaks: Surge is nearly constant Monday mornings 6–10am, Thursday–Friday 4–8pm, and any day Congress has late votes; DC metro area events (protests, inaugurations, Nationals/Caps/Wizards) add unpredictable spikes.
Wait tip
DCA is the busiest DC-area airport for business travel; surge pricing is near-constant on weekday mornings and evenings; the Metro (Blue/Yellow lines, Crystal City / DCA station) is often cheaper than surge fares.
Rideshare is usually the fastest door-to-door option, but it is not always the cheapest — especially during surge.
| Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Rideshare Uber / Lyft | Door-to-door convenience, groups with bags, no cash needed | Surge pricing on busy evenings & events; long walk to pickup lot |
| Taxi Metered cab | Predictable metered fare during surge, no app required | Often more expensive off-peak; cash sometimes required |
| Transit Train / bus | Lowest cost option, immune to surge pricing and traffic | Not available at every airport; less practical with luggage |
