Copa Airlines quick facts
What to know before you fly
- Copa restructured to a fare-family baggage model effective April 15, 2026: Economy Basic = no checked bags; Economy Classic = 1 bag (23 kg) free; Economy Full = 2 bags (23 kg each) free. All fares include carry-on and personal item.
- Copa is primarily an international carrier (Panama hub, Star Alliance member); checked-bag fees for Economy Basic vary significantly by route segment — exact amounts are only shown in the dynamic baggage calculator at copa.com.
- Passengers checking bags after completing web check-in must arrive at the counter at least 90 minutes before departure, though the official airport times table lists the hard cutoff as 60 min (international) / 45 min (domestic).
